Sleeving is still the most reliable and most economical method of repairing damaged and worn out cylinders. Don't want loose your terrific porting and to say the least expensive porting? When your cylinder is damaged or worn beyond simple boring and honing Kustom Kraft Performance can expertly install a new hardened, long lasting, and boreable alloy steel sleeve. Your cylinder casting is precision machined to accept our cool running polished sleeve. In the case of 2 stroke cylinders your cylinder will be blue print ported to assure no loss in power from misaligned or mismatched ports. In fact most of our customers report an increase in performance. Your cylinder is then final bored and honed to recommended clearances and all ports are chamfered. Head gasket surfaces are machined flat and smooth for a perfect seal. When the big plating companies can't re-plate a cylinder they send it to us to install a sleeve. The cost of cylinder sleeving is far more economical than buying a new cylinder. Usually in the neighborhood of 50% less than a new cylinder. In some cases cylinder sleeving is the only way to rebuild the cylinder bore. We can weld and machine damaged areas to look and work like new. What do you get when you have your cylinder sleeved? The 2 stroke Cylinder price includes the sleeve and labor to install it. All the ports are hand matched to insure no loss in performance. The head gasket surface is machined level and smooth. The cylinder sleeve is bored and honed to precision specifications. The ports are champhered and the bore is honed. Last the exhaust bridge is relieved to prevent excessive expansion. Most cylinder rebuilds include a ProX or Wiseco piston kit. The 4 Stroke cylinder price includes sleeve and labor to install it, deck and surface the head gasket area, champher the bottom of the sleeve so the piston and rings can be installed easily. The cylinder is then bored and honed to precision specifications. The piston kit is priced separately for 4 stroke cylinders. |
